When contemporary architecture meets classic heritage architecture

Visit the beautiful mansions and interior courtyards since 2006 of the historic center of Montpellier during the Festival des Architectures Vives which is held in Montpellier and La Grande Motte from June 13 to 18, 2017. Usually not accessible to visitors, you will have the privilege of browse these private sites in Montpellier, and revisited for the occasion by the work of young talented architects! This happy event is a perfect appetizer of the city's cultural and architectural richness and dynamism.

The route organized at La Grande Motte invites you to discover a contemporary architectural heritage dating from 2013 revisited and in some cases rewritten by young architects. The architecture of Jean Balladur, which has made the reputation of the town and is recognized as "Heritage of the 20th century", is put into perspective by these superb ephemeral works. This cultural event is an opportunity to shed light on the work of these talented young French and international architects.
Access is completely free and free for all.
